Award-winning, record-breaking UK superstars, Take That, will return to South Australia on Saturday, November 2nd for the first time since 2017, to perform their greatest hits and songs from their new album “This Life” at A Day On The Green in the Barossa Valley.
Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald will kick off their tour in Australia before heading over to New Zealand. Their decision to bring their new sound to arenas and stunning wineries around Australia and New Zealand aligns perfectly with the laid-back essence of their latest album “This Life”. Peter Lehmann’s historic Barossa Valley venue, surrounded by towering gums and grapevines, sets the stage for South Australia’s only concert, set in an extraordinary open-air experience.
Adding to the excitement, renowned pop figure Sophie Ellis-Bextor (Murder on the Dance Floor) will grace the tour as an exceptional guest, appearing on all dates.

The A Day On The Green concerts will also feature the incredibly versatile artist Ricki-Lee, known for her roles as a singer, songwriter, TV and radio host, and pop phenomenon.
In a chat with Glam Adelaide, Howard Donald shared “I can’t wait to visit Australia again and drink some proper coffee. The first thing I’m going to do is go find a good Flat White”.
While coffee is high on Howard’s agenda, crooner Gary Barlow is more likely to be wine-tasing and indulging in some of South Australia’s world-famous wines. Gary released his own wine label “Gary Barlow Organic Wines” in 2021, and to date, has sold over 1 million bottles.
For their latest album, the trio wrote separately for over a year and then came together in the USA, UK and Spain, to work on their songs together. The choice of recording location for the latest album, “This Life,” indeed played a pivotal role in shaping the overall vibe of the record. The historic studio, a building nestled amongst palm trees and located alongside a river in Savannah, Georgia, had the trio working with producer and 9-time grammy winner, Dave Cobb (Lady Gaga, Barry Gibb).
“The huge house we were working from gave a warm vibe and was a beautiful location, it certainly helped while writing”, said Howard.
Clearly the setting helped craft songs like “Windows” and the title track “This Life” for an album that they describe as a genuine celebration of their three-decade-long journey together. The collaborative and relaxed approach to songwriting and recording resonates throughout the album, creating a chilled-out and cohesive sound that makes the most of their soaring harmonies.
And this chilled-out vibe is perfect for the A Day on The Green venues sprinkled throughout Australia’s premiere wine regions including the Barossa Valley in SA, Hunter Valley in NSW and Mount Cotton in QLD. Arenas in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland will be filled with old and new fans and if you’ve not seen a Take That concert – grab a ticket, it’s one of the most electrifying and entertaining concerts you’ll ever attend with great pop tunes you’ll easily catch onto. With a remarkable career spanning 30 years, the band aims to share not only their latest offering but also a collection of their greatest hits from their 9 studio albums that include 12 Number 1 top hits in 56 countries.
The setlist is expected to encompass a nostalgic journey through their 90s classics (we all love a good sing-along with “Back for good”), to the more recent catalogue from 2006 to now with songs like “Greatest Day”, “These Days” and “Patience”. This comprehensive musical journey reflects the band’s evolution over the years and allows fans to relive the various eras that have defined Take That’s sound.
“I hope it’s really nice and sunny over there in November for the shows”. We hope so too Howard!
