This sounds like the kind of (fricken’ awesome) party your parents warned you about. There will be tattoo giveaways and live tattooing on the night, free cuts at Crooked Cutting Studio, prohibition era cocktails, funky jazz music and more! All in the name of celebrating BRKLYN‘s 1st birthday.
In just one short year, BRKLYN has solidified it’s rightful home on Rundle Street and we couldn’t be happier. The venue has grown immensely since opening their doors and all the different parts have come together perfectly to form a multipurpose working/’living’ space. The addition of Crooked Cutting Studio as a late night oriented unisex barber is certainly one area that has flourished. Its been perfect for the after work crowd who can’t always get in for a trim during the day.
For the big birthday bash on April 1st, BRKLYN have actually hired a local tattoo artist for the night. They’ve got a set number of tattoos to give away and these will be raffled off to patrons who are interested. The tattoos will be performed on the night in their barbershop which will also be giving away some free cuts for people right then and there.
Special prohibition cocktails will be discounted all night. Think Old Fashioneds and South Sides as well as their current board options like Moscow Mules, Cosmos and Margaritas.
They’ve greatly fleshed out their food menu too, which has been a huge success this year. Traditional favourites like the Reuben Sandwich and Chipotle Toastie have had some stiff competition from the mozzarella sticks, their new fried chicken and hummus dip plate, and vegetarian haloumi bun.
Owner Rashaad Chenia says, “the space has really grown into its intended purpose which is a nice and casual mid week spot to have a bite to eat and a few cocktails. Friday nights have been a great after work spot for cheese and wine platters and cocktails and then Saturdays really turn into a bit of a party with DJ’s on from 8pm till close.”
What more reason do we need to celebrate?
Its been real BRKLYN. Catch you on the 1st!
