Brothers at War pasta night returns for its third and final instalment

Brothers at War is hosting an incredible evening of wine and housemade Italian food this February at their cellar door in the heart of the Barossa.

Calling all pasta lovers! Barossa-based winery Brothers at War is bringing back their beloved Italian nights for a third and final instalment.

While international travel is slowly but surely returning, winemaker and co-owner Angus Wardlaw is taking to the kitchen to serve a house-made slice of Italian paradise to guests. Before the “pre-vintage storm” hits the Barossa, chow down on tasty food and wine one last time during the intimate dinner this February 18.

If you’re not familiar with the incredible Italy nights, let us introduce you. Using local, fresh and seasonal produce, Wardlaw uses his culinary talents to create incredible dishes paired perfectly with the small-batch winery’s drops.

While the final menu is still under wraps, guests can expect anchovies on toast -topped with salsa verde – and a squid ink linguini, with crab, smoked salmon roe and white wine sauce.

The ever-popular and homemade sausage pasta with horseradish crumb will be making an appearance on the line-up of dishes – but Wardlaw’s saying he’s planning to switch up the dish this time around.

“We keep the crowd-pleasers,” says Wardlaw.

“But I change it up each time, and every time it does get better.”

The Brothers at War Italy nights launched in late November, combining Wardlaw’s passion for food and wine in an incredible evening. The pasta nights are perfect for a long over-due catch up with mates, or an intimate dinner with your loved one. So sit back, relax and stay awhile as the culinary magic unfolds.

“It’s been fantastic, we’ve had a lot of support from locals and people visiting the Barossa,” he says.

“I’ve been a winemaker for a long time, and I’ve always loved food – it’s amazing to have a home that are doing these food nights.

“It’s pretty surreal and it’s great that everyone is having a great night too.”

As the Barossa Valley and other SA wine regions gear up for a busy vintage period, Wardlaw and the Brothers at War team are keen to see what wines derive from this year’s later, cooler harvest.

And while we are bidding farewell to the Brothers at War pasta nights, watch this space. The winery is working on hosting takeovers by Australia’s best chefs and finding a new cuisine to focus upon once vintage madness settles.

The third and final Brothers at War Italy night is this February 18, running from 4pm ‘til late. The set menu is $65 (excluding drinks.)

Seats at the table are limited, so call 0472 915 599 or email [email protected] to book.
