If one of your favourite winter weekend activities was to take a leisurely stroll through Adelaide’s art galleries, or the wildly popular Van Gogh Alive has awakened the inner artist in you, you don’t have to miss out on flexing your artistic muscles whilst staying at home.

Although they’ve had to close their doors like many other Adelaide business throughout the 7 day state-wide lockdown, Norwood gallery Art Images is offering South Aussies stuck at home a more cultured way to spend your lockdown, uploading their current exhibition, and stockroom of masterpieces to their website.

Offering something different for those already sick of Netflix, Binge and Stan whilst following the government’s stay at home orders, you can browse the colourful works of art lining the walls at Art Images Gallery, from vivid expressionist masterpieces to expertly created still life paintings, with the Gallery specialising in contemporary Australian art.

The gallery is due to open their SALA exhibition ‘Inside/Outside’ on the 30 July, which showcases incredible painting and sculpture work from 19 South Australian artists. While the on-schedule opening of the exhibition is looking more unlikely as more cases are announced in South Australia, the team at Art Images has announced they will be creating a catalogue for people to preview the stunning selection of work on display, from the comfort of their sofa.

Situated on the Parade, some of the pieces on display at Art Images Gallery include Diana Wiseman’s ‘Exploration & Memory’ exhibition, described as a ‘celebration of her meanderings throughout the south east region of South Australia, surrounding Mt Gambier’, giving you a chance to see some incredible artistic interpretations of some of the state’s most beautiful and iconic landscapes.

For those who have not yet visited Art Images, its one of Adelaide’s most established galleries, having expertly sourced contemporary paintings, ceramics, sculptures and jewellery for 30 years.

The Gallery also provides a number of services including art rentals, framing, hanging and a selection of art at the iconic Adelaide Oval Hotel, which art-fanatics can browse through on their website.
