Sweet Soon is no ordinary bubble tea shop—after winning over Hindley St with their unique tofu pudding, boba tea, taro desserts, and other sweet creations, they’re now set to bring their signature charm and creativity to Chinatown with a brand-new store.
Sweet Soon first opened its doors at 1/62-68 Hindley Street back in 2023, and became known for its taro drinks and desserts, premium teas and velvety milk. The new store promises to continue offering these beloved flavours and dishes, while adding a unique twist tailored to the Chinatown area.
The new Sweet Soon on Wright Street has a huge menu. The menu highlights include their signature handmade teas and mashed taro. Taro is a type of root vegetable that’s bright purple inside. It features a distinctive mild, nutty flavour with a subtly sweet aftertaste, that when mashed and made into a tea makes for a smooth, sweet drink, often with a bright purple colour. A must-try at Sweet Soon is the Osmanthus tea with mashed taro and mini taro balls, priced at $9.
Other standout items include fresh fruit teas, such as the signature fruit combo and the refreshing kiwi fruit. In the hard-punch series, the Yashi lemon tea is a standout, while the cape jasmine milk tea with pearls is a crowd favourite among the milky teas.
Sweet Soon also has a huge selection of desserts and savoury meals on offer. From tofu puddings in all types of different fruity flavours to savoury rice meals, fried chicken and salads, there really is something for everyone.
Inside the store, there is plenty of room to sit and enjoy all of these fantastic treats, but the grab-and-go nature of the menu items also makes it great if you want something quick whilst on the go.
