Bucket list yoga and pilates experiences on offer at Van Gogh Alive

This July you can stretch and sweat under the stars with two unique pilates and yoga experiences under some of Van Gogh’s most famous works.

Get ready to stretch and sweat surrounded by some of the world’s most iconic artworks at the immersive spectacular Van Gogh Alive with a unique new event from Cosmic Yoga Studio and Form Pilates & Barre.

The two studios are setting out to transport minds, bodies and souls amidst the sensory paradise that is Van Gogh Alive on Thursday 1 July and Sunday 4 July.

The 1 July evening will have a sparkly twist, offering attendees to attend the Van Gogh Alive exhibition post-sweat yoga session with a glass of Taittinger Champagne in hand, whilst those who choose the 4 July Pilates session can toast the end of their session with a complimentary coffee and croissant.

Van Gogh Alive is a highly anticipated immersive experience that opens on July 1 in a stunning purpose-built 25,000 square foot digital gallery (The Grand Pavilion) on O’Connell Street that will bring Van Gogh’s iconic artworks (including The Starry Night and Sunflowers) to life.

Cosmic Yoga Studio’s co-owners Bianca Tredea and Inese Meiers will be leading a once-in-a-lifetime 45-minute Vinyasa Flow session on 1 July from 7:30 – 9:30pm and are thrilled to bring this bucket list exercise and art experience to Adelaide.

Bianca says: “We are thrilled to be part of the Van Gogh Alive experience. Yoga in a purpose built 25,000 square foot immersive art gallery presents a huge opportunity to practice in a way that excites the senses – a wrap-around of light, colour, sound and fragrance.

“We are heading into our eighth year and love being part of community-based events as ‘community is a connection’,” Bianca says.

“We’ve engaged in other fun and uplifting ways before (Yoga Silent Nights) with great ‘feel good’ success, and we expect the collective energy from this event to be spectacular!”

A session more suited to Pilates & Barre enthusiasts is taking place on Sunday 4 July 7 – 9am where Form Pilates & Barre owners Clancy Sullivan and Megan Martin will be leading a Pilates session immersed in the famous swirls and colours of Van Gogh’s works.

After the Mat Pilates session, attendees can cool down in the multi-sensory symphony of colour, sound, and fragrance that is Van Gogh Alive.

Megan says: “Sharing our passion and knowledge with the community, and those who may have never participated in Pilates before, set against amazing art work is a unique once in a lifetime opportunity. It’s not every day you get to practice Pilates immersed in iconic art.”

Created by Grande Experiences, Van Gogh Alive gives visitors the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in Van Gogh’s artistry and truly venture into his world.
