Screen Shot 2014-08-22 at 11.21.34 amSydney Street is becoming futuristic with a Virtual Reality Fashion Show and you have the chance to check it out today only in Burnside Village!

Brett Partington is Managing Director of Sydney Street Casual and he is also one of the driving forces behind the Virtual Reality (VR) Fashion Show that is being developed to change the way people view their fashion.

Brett has collaborated with his two technology partners Stefan Pernar (Virtual Reality Ventures) and Joel ‘Tiger’ de Ross (Lobal Technologies) to create a virtual reality experience that allows customers to view actual garments on an avatar so they can see how the garment actually fits, and watch the flow of the fabric in great detail. In future versions they are looking to use customized ‘size specific’ models and also use heatmap technology to determine how garments will exactly fit on you!

Virtual Reality is a fun way to view clothing as you are in total control of the experience and can have the virtual models walk down the catwalk multiple times as you zoom around them. The 3D experience is enhanced by the Oculus Rift Development Kit (gaming mask) which enables you to feel part of the action. The Oculus company has just been purchased by Facebook for 2 billion dollars recently, so expect virtual reality experiences to be rolled out in a very big way, real soon.
