Bus Route Changes Not To Proceed After Public Consultation

Today South Australia’s Premier, Steven Marshall, announced that proposed changes to bus routes and SA Service Centres, will not be proceeding.

Today South Australia’s Premier, Steven Marshall, announced that proposed changes to bus routes, will not be proceeding. Today’s decision was based on a strong response from thousands of public transport users in SA, who have made it clear that they don’t want any changes to bus routes.

The Premier said it doesn’t mean we won’t be proceeding with other upgrades to public transport in SA.

Another announcement today was that the SA Government won’t be proceeding with the proposed closure of SA service centres. Instead, the centres based at Modbury, Mitcham & Prospect will move towards a new concierge model which has shorter waiting times for those visiting the centres.

Marshall finished today’s press conference by discussing today’s lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, and getting people back to work. He wanted to stress that even with lifted restrictions, people shouldn’t become complacent, and must still observe social distancing and good hygiene, and if you have ANY of the symptoms, not to go to work or out in public.
