If you’re both a wine lover and a pet lover then this is the story for you.
Sit Stay Society’s new wine range consists of half bottle wines, with 50c of each purchase donated to PetResue’s free adoption programs and services.
PetRescue’s mission is to work towards a future where every pet is safe, respected and most importantly, loved.
PetRescue co-founder and joint CEO Vickie Davy, says they are thrilled to have Sit Stay Society wines come onboard to help raise funds for PetRescue.
Mrs Davy says “With 100,000 pets still killed in pounds and shelters in Australia every year, there’s so much work to be done in this space, and funding is crucial to impact.”
“We are incredibly grateful for the support of Sit Stay Society wines to help realise our vision … And if you can enjoy a wine and help pets at the same time, we say cheers to that,” says Mrs Davy.
The wines are part of a joint initiative by BWS and Dan Murphy’s who will be exclusively retailing the wines.
The Sit Stay Society and their creative labels of wine play homage to breeds of doggies such as Toby’s Shiraz Tempranillo Clare Valley 2017 which is adorned with an illustration of a French Bulldog.
Additionally, their Max’s Cabernet Malbec Clare Valley 2018 has a King Charles Cavalier sketched on the bottle.
Head of Wine at BWS Chris Mattes says, “Our customers love wine and many of them are passionate about animals as well.”
“It’s nice to be able to give them a chance to support a great cause while enjoying a delicious wines at the same time.”
Mr Mattes also added they are planning on expanding the range further with breeds and wine varieties this year, including white wine and rosé options.
The wines do come in a 375ml bottle (which is the half size bottle) a trend that is starting to really gain pace in Australia.
Mr Mattes says that if you open a full bottle of wine, it is recommended that you drink it within a few days to avoid the effects of oxidation to the wine. Therefore, a half bottle of wine is the perfect solution for wine lovers keen to avoiding wasting their vino.
The Sit Stay Society Toby’s Shiraz Tempranillo Clare Valley 2017 and their Max’s Cabernet Malbec Clare Valley 2018 are available in store now and retail for $10 per bottle at BWS and are also available at Dan Murphy retailers.
