A poetic voice in a sassy shell

Opening with a number from George Michael, Brendan Maclean sat down at his piano and embodied what can only be described as a vision of Freddie Mercury meets Elton John.  Next up was a Brendan Maclean original by the name of Tectonic and well, there is no doubt his originals are as magnificent as his covers.

The night was a mix of covers, originals and stories about his illustrious theatre and solo preforming carer. The atmosphere was intimate, delightful and all the things you expect from Cabaret. Brendan was also not shy in projecting the love he has for Marcia Hines which added a fun element to the show as did his misbehaving Ukulele.

At Brendan’s request of the review being either a 1 and a half star or a 5 star but not a boring 3 star, I will go with a 5 because that is what it deserves as an enjoyable night out albeit the sledge on reviewers that did slightly tarnish the evening. You can catch Brendan hosting the Pina Colada Room for the next few evenings.
