Flamenco dance company and academy, Studio Flamenco, is run by Adelaide-based sisters Emma and Susi and has been operating since 2004. This year they’ll be showcasing their new collaborative performance, La Pena Flamenca, for only one night at the Cabaret Fringe Festival. Together Emma and Susi have performed at WOMADelaide, the Adelaide International Guitar Festival and in countless theatre productions, often collaborating with international artists.
This show was born through a chance meeting in the streets of Sevilla, Spain, the heart of flamenco, and led to an international collaboration between Australian flamenco artists, Emma Fernée and Susi Masi, and dancer Jazmín Centeno with her partner guitarist, Andrius Masilionis.
Dancer Jazmín Centeno and her guitar virtuoso partner Andrius Masilionis perform in the tablaos (traditional flamenco venues) of their hometown of Seville, Spain and tour extensively in Europe.
Studio Flamenco, Jazmín and Andrius join forces this Adelaide Cabaret Fringe Festival with the passionate tones of singer Zoe Velez (Sydney) and dynamic rhythms of flamenco percussonist Adrian Van Nunen in ‘La Peña Flamenca’ – one night only of musical virtuosity and fiery dance in the intimate setting of La Boheme, Grote St.
Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to experience flamenco at its best!
Two shows only at 7pm and 9pm Saturday 3 June at La Boheme, Grote St. Adelaide.
