The Adelaide Cabaret Fringe Festival is officially underway with amazing local talent that will serve as a hit of sunshine to dull those Winter blues.
The 2022 Adelaide Cabaret Fringe Festival has a jam-packed program which kicked off on June 3rd, with the 10-day festival running until Monday June 13th, so there is no time to waste when purchasing tickets to your next cabaret filled evening.
Kicking off the final week of the Cab Fringe Thursday night will be Unapologetic by Tarsha Cameron, a show detailing a woman’s journey with self-discovery told through the lens of satirical humour.
There is still a huge assortment of acts to choose from with The La la Cabaret Club: Silver Screen Seduction on Saturday, highlighting the glitz, glamour, fun and frolics of the silver screen, to Choo and Peek on Sunday, displaying dazzling duos, tantalising trios and solos that reveal a little more than a cheeky smile.
Although there are some PG-Rated acts like The Sound of Missy, Hats On! Hats Off! and Under the Paris Sky, we would like to highly encourage you to take a look at the ratings of each show, just so you know when to keep the kids home.
There’s plenty of great venues participating throughout the Adelaide CBD and metropolitan suburbs including city bars Shotgun Willie’s, Diverse-City, Nineteen Ten and My Lover Cindi as well as metropolitan newcomers The Highway, The Gov, Pirate Life Brewing and Woodville Town Hall and more.
Cabaret Fringe’s new Chair, Mark de Raad, is expecting that the excitement brought to the event by the performers and the public will make for a great 2022 festival.
Ahead of the launch last month, Mark said “The Cabaret Fringe Board is super excited to present the 2022 festival and to continue to support an affordable and accessible platform for bringing this unique art form to life. We can’t wait to bring artists, venues and audiences together again to deliver eclectic and affordable art, with something for everyone to enjoy! Please come along and support our local talent and the many live entertainment and hospitality venues that we are so lucky to have here in SA.”
South Australia’s winter festival season has become a vibrant home for the arts in recent years, with the Cab Fringe kicking it off every year at the start of June for the past two decades. Adelaide Cabaret Fringe is gearing up audiences ahead of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival whose opening weekend runs simultaneously with the Cab Fringe’s closing weekend.
Once Broadway Baby: Encore has closed out the official festivities, there will also be a Cab Fringe awards night on June 28 to celebrate all of the artists in the festival, and announce the recipient of the Frank Ford award.
