CABN is giving five of Australia’s deserving carers a rejuvenating two-night off-grid nature retreat at one of their stunning locations to thank them for their invaluable contributions. To end celebrations for National Carers Week (from October 13-19), CABN are giving these everyday and unsung heroes – who often prioritise the needs of others – a moment of respite.
With over 3 million unpaid carers across the country – individuals who selflessly devote their time and energy to support loved ones – CABN’s CEO, Michael Lamprell says carer’s across the country face immense challenges, including stress, burnout, and isolation.
“Caregivers are the backbone of our communities, often putting others first,” she said.
“We’re committed to providing a sanctuary where they can unplug from everyday life and reconnect with nature, this initiative is a way to say thank you to these incredible individuals.”

Established in 2017, CABN redefines off-grid, self-contained accommodation with a commitment to regenerative travel and eco-friendly practices. Their cabins, set in stunning natural landscapes, cater to those seeking the health benefits of nature.
Earlier this year, CABN surprised a long-time guest with a complimentary stay, only to learn that she and her husband were dedicated carers for high-needs family members.
“Stories like this inspire us to take action,” he continued.
“By offering these escapes, we hope to provide carers with the rejuvenation they truly deserve and raise awareness about the emotional toll caregiving takes.”

Entrants can nominate a deserving carer – paid or unpaid – by visiting the CABN campaign page at www.cabn.life/carersweek and sharing in 200 words or less why their nominee deserves a break. Self-nominations are also welcome!
Five winners will be chosen to enjoy a two-night stay in breathtaking locations such as McLaren Vale, Clare Valley, Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills, and Kangaroo Island.
There are no restrictions on dates, allowing winners the flexibility to plan their getaway.

Annabel Reid, CEO of Carers Australia, applauded CABN’s initiative.
“Carers Australia advocates for the rights and recognition that unpaid carers deserve. We are thrilled that CABN is offering their beautiful accommodations to allow carers to reconnect with nature and take a well-deserved break.”
CABN’s collaboration with Carers Australia aims not only to give back but also to highlight the critical importance of supporting mental health and well-being for those who give so much of themselves.
