Café De Vili’s to open one of their biggest stores with a drive through in Hillcrest

The iconic Café De Vili’s bakery have announced the opening of their fourth store, and it’s set to be one of their biggest yet.

The iconic Café De Vili’s bakery have announced the opening of their fourth store, and it’s set to be one of their biggest yet.

Taking over the former Hillcrest basketball stadium, the new store will be a part of a massive new complex including a child care centre, pharmacy, medical rooms and residential dwellings.

After the announcement earlier in the year of their first 24 hour drive through store in Elizabeth, this will be the second store to also offer this convenient service.

Whether you’re grabbing a sprinkled donut for your afternoon snack or sneaking in a hearty meat pie at 1 am, Café De Vili’s drive through will be making it even easier to satisfy your bakery cravings on the go.

Set to open at the end of 2022, the total dining space including indoor and outdoor will be nearly 400sqm making it the store with the largest dining area of all the Café De Vili’s so far.

Franchisee Brenton Field who is also the co-owner of Café De Vili’s Blair Athol said he is very excited about the project and is looking forward to the opening.

“Prior to Vili’s passing this year, I spent a lot of time with Vili on the design of the Hillcrest café which now holds a special place in our hearts,” Brenton said.

“I feel very blessed that I was able to share this time with him.”

Brenton began his employment at Café De Vili’s 20 years ago, where he first worked on the night shift factory floor packing orders.

He slowly made his way up working through the cake shift, to becoming a Sales Representative to now being a National Sales Manager.

“I am very fortunate that Vili and Rosemary Milisits trusted and gave me the opportunity to grow the Café De Vili’s brand,” Brenton said.

“It is something I will never forget and will forever be grateful for. Vili was my mentor and I will continue to fly the Vili’s brand with pride.”

After Vili’s sadly passed away earlier this year, the team at Café De Vili’s are always working hard to continue his legacy of giving back to the community and providing quality bakery goods across the state and country.

This new location follows his commitment of baking delicious pies, pastries and cakes which has been Café De Vili’s goal since 1968.

Cafe De Vili’s new location will be 483 North East Road, Hillcrest.
