Love Your Bookshop Day

August 10, 2019

What is Love Your Bookshop Day?

This year bookshops across Australia are throwing a party and you are invited!

Love Your Bookshop Day is a chance to celebrate what makes your local bookshop great. Whether it’s for their amazing staff, their carefully curated range or specialisation or a must-see events program, we encourage you to visit your favourite bookshop on Saturday 10th August 2019 and join in with the celebrations.

Don’t forget to tag any events you attend using #loveyourbookshopday and #LYBD19 and share why your bookshop is special using the hashtag #whyIlovemybookshop

See the South Australian events listed here, which include activities at Dillons Norwood Bookshop, Mostly Books in Torrens Park, and Matilda Bookshop in Mount Barker

Love Your Bookshop Day is organised by The Australian Booksellers Association (ABA), the official national body representing bookshops all across Australia. Formed as a not-for-profit organisation, the Association provides education and training, advocacy, technical advice and marketing support to booksellers. They also recognise and celebrate the special role that books and bookselling play in society – creating community, supporting ideas and creativity, and opening doors to other worlds and experiences.

For further information about the ABA or Love Your Bookshop Day, please email ABA at [email protected] or call their office on 03 9859 7322.
