The Black Box Experiment

August 7 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until November 28, 2019

$8.50

The Black Box Experiment is a TV pilot incubator giving Adelaide native creatives a month of live shows to develop a new TV idea. The final show of each month is filmed as TV pilot, produced by 1UP Digital in partnership with broadcast partner Channel 44.

These pilots will then be pitched to broadcast and online channels, as well as forming a series for broadcast on Channel 44.

Taking place from 7pm each Wednesday night at the Rhino Room, audiences are invited to come along and enjoy a new episode of the concept each week, then provide feedback either in person or anonymously online. The artists can then use that feedback to fine-tune their show week by week until the pilot is filmed on the final Wednesday.

The shows vary from month to month and have included a talk show on dating in the digital age, game shows, and script readings for new sitcoms. There will be seven shows over seven months, running from May – November 2019.

Help bring live television back to Adelaide, and support local artists in the process! Tickets are just $8.50 in purchased if advance online, or $10 at the door.
