Zoo’s SA Rhino Gala is making a difference for the Southern White Rhinos.

Want to help Zoos SA protect the Southern White Rhinos?

The Zoos SA Rhino Gala is on Friday February 8 – an evening of glamour, great entertainment and helping Zoos SA get that step closer to securing the future of the gentle Southern White Rhinos for generations to come.

Zoos SA is working together with The Australian Rhino Project to relocate up to 30 Southern White Rhinos from Africa to Australia, where they’ll be safe from poachers.

Held at Adelaide Oval, the Rhino Gala is a black tie event including pre-dinner drinks, a three course meal, drinks package and entertainment. What better way to sit back and have a drink, while also helping a cause in need?

A rhino is killed on average every six hours for its horn, and with no intervention, rhinos may be extinct within the next 10 years. The poaching rate in now exceeding the birth rate in Africa.

The Rhino Gala will help in developing Monarto Zoo’s 560-hectare site known as ‘Wild Africa’ closely resembling Africa with its grasslands, waterholes, and safari tracks. Zoos SA is planning to relocate and manage the rhinos in open plain accredited conservation locations with high security, and eventually bring them back to Africa when the situation permits.

They are also building a 1000 square meter rhino quarantine and management centre.

The night will be MC’d by Channel 7’s Jessica Adamson, with all funds raised going towards helping the journey of building the Rhino Management Centre at Monarto Zoo

Tickets are $220 per person, for more information click here. For other ways you can help the Southern White Rhinos project head to Zoos SA.
