Organisers of the Australia Day in the City celebrations are calling for individuals, families and groups to take part in the Adelaide street parade.

The Parade begins at 6pm on Thursday 26 January from Hindmarsh Square before making its way to Elder Park for the twilight Australia Day Concert.

Interested participants are encouraged to join the parade to form part of the ‘Rainbow Echidna Group’ that will walk along with a giant inflatable echidna and carry the Australia Day in the City Parade banner.

A fun, hands-on workshop will also be held from 10am to 1pm this Saturday 21st January at the Prospect Sea Scouts Hall (389 Regency Road) to make items to wear and carry in the Parade.

The free workshop will be run by professional artists and will be a great activity for people of all ages including children on school holidays.

After the parade, participants are encouraged to stay on for the Australia Day Concert, featuring singing superstars Ricki-Lee and Stan Walker. The festivities will end with a bang with a spectacular fireworks finale sponsored by the Commonwealth Bank at 10pm.
