Calling all baking stars! If you’re whiz with a whisk and a spatula, it is time to dust off your apron and get ready to bake, because “The Great Australian Bake Off” is returning to screens, and applications are now open for all aspiring bakers.
From biscuits to bread, and pies to pavlovas, it is a chance for bakers from across the country to showcase their skills and step into the iconic Bake Off shed.
Whether you’re a professional baker or a keen amateur, “The Great Australian Bake Off” is an opportunity to prove you have what it takes to be crowned Australia’s baking champion.
To be eligible, you must be 16 years or older, and an Australian citizen or permanent resident. Applications opened on April 15 and close on the June 10 at midnight, so don’t miss your chance to join the ranks of the most talented bakers who have walked the Bake Off stage.
“The Great Australian Bake Off” has seen multiple seasons go to air, showcasing the talents of amateur bakers from across the country. Following a similar format to the popular “The Great British Bake Off”, the show features a range of challenges where contestants are judged on their creativity, skill, and ability to produce delicious baked goods.
Contestants typically have to compete in three challenges per episode: the Signature Bake, the Technical Challenge, and the Showstopper Challenge, with each week focusing on a different theme such as cakes, bread, pastry, or desserts.
Last year, Laura Foo took out the competition in an exciting final showdown against two other contestants from Victoria. The 26-year-old, known as “Lozza”, captivated judges Rachel Khoo and Darren Purchese, along with guest judge Maggie Beer, across three hectic challenges in the grand finale.
If you’re wanting to follow in Laura’s footsteps, and are ready to be crowed with the ultimate title of Australia’s baking champion, showcase your talent on “The Great Australian Bake Off”.
