Do you consider yourself a travel lover? A travel snob perhaps? Well, you’re exactly what Channel 9 is looking for.
They’re currently on the hunt for new recruits to join the 2026 season of the hit show, Travel Guides, where ordinary Aussies take on the job of being travel critics. The best part? You get to travel to the world’s most popular locations with your nearest and dearest for free!
The Logie Award-winning show has made Australia fall in love with the funny and chaotic guides as they visit new holiday locations and live out all the joys of travelling. There’s tears, there’s arguments, and there’s hilarious mistakes but one thing for sure is that there’s never a dull moment.
For a quick recap, there’s the iconic Fren family – Mark, Cathy, and their kids Jono and Victoria – who have been part of the series since day one. Then there’s fan-favourites Kevin and Janetta, also part of the OG crew, offering endless sass and silliness.
Season two introduced the self-proclaimed ‘Target boys’ – Kev, Dorian, and Teng – who met while working at the retailer and quickly became standout favourites for their laidback banter. Later came Newcastle couple Matt and Brett in season four bringing plenty of belly laughs and heartfelt moments.
And in 2024, best friends Karly and Bri joined the crew, who first met on Beauty and the Geek. But these newcomers are ready to hand the baton to the next group of fresh guides…
If you’re eyes are lighting up right now, here’s what you need to join the team.
The application is open to groups of two to four people, aged 18 and over, with a sense of adventure and humour, a passion for travel, and a valid passport. The trip of a lifetime will take place between August 2025 and January 2026.
To whet your appetite some more, this year’s ninth season has already seen the case jet off to stunning destinations like Spain, Portugal and Tahiti.
