Carclew Youth Arts is playing host to a free, all ages live music festival on Saturday 4 May to farewell and celebrate 17 years of its long running music program ‘Off the Couch’.

With the stunning backdrop of Carclew House in North Adelaide, the event will feature an exciting line up of South Australia’s best up-and-coming bands and musicians performing over three stages.

“After such a long and successful history as a career path for emerging musicians, it’s only fitting that Off the Couch gets the send off it deserves,” said Alice Fraser, Off the Couch Project Officer. “Audiences can expect a modern day music and arts festival featuring a combination of themed stages, multi-genre acts, artist designed bars, popup vendors and a few hidden surprises.”

Run annually for the past 17 years, the Off the Couch program has facilitated a series of youth delivered live music events with a focus on independent, unsigned artists and developing event coordinators. Carclew will continue to work closely with young and emerging musicians through current grant and scholarship programs and also through Fifth Quarter, an initiative that assists all artists in business and career development.

Since 1995 Off the Couch has provided performance and development opportunities for more than 2,500 young and emerging musicians and event coordinators, reaching a total audience of 67,000 live music enthusiasts.
