Carlotta to headline at the Regal with I’M NOT DEAD YET, DARLINGS!

The Aussie living legend who inspired the film “Priscilla Queen of the Desert” is headed to Adelaide for one night only!

Australian icon and living legend Carlotta will take you on a whirlwind journey through her extraordinary life with songs and stories from on and off the stage in I’M NOT DEAD YET, DARLINGS at The Regal Theatre on Thursday 19th November at 8pm.

An Australian cabaret performer and television celebrity Carlotta began her career as an original member of the long-running Les Girls cabaret show, performed entirely by heavily costumed males, which started in 1963 in the purpose built Les Girls building which stood on a prominent corner in the heart of Sydney’s Kings Cross, New South Wales.

Carlotta, a transgender person, rose through the ranks of the show to eventually become the show’s compere and its most famous member. Les Girls and Carlotta soon became must-see attractions for visitors to Sydney and the show was popular with visiting international celebrities. The show continued in the Les Girls building until 1993, when the Les Girls show went on-the-road, touring Australia, which inspired the film “Priscilla Queen of the Desert”.

Outrageously funny and brutally honest, Carlotta will remind audiences why they’ve been tickled pink and falling in love with her for over four decades.

Accompanied on piano by acclaimed cabaret performer in his own right, Michael Griffiths, together with special guest star Les Girl performer, Adelaide’s very own Vonni, and featuring classic tunes by Irving Berlin, Rogers and Hart, Stephen Sondheim and her good friend Peter Allen this is guaranteed to be a fabulous night out darlings!
