Celebrate Christmas in July with Katnook Coonawarra

Celebrate Christmas in July in Katnook Coonawarra’s historical stables with a traditional Christmas feast, dessert and a complimentary glass of wine!

It’s sad to think that Christmas only comes by once a year which is why Christmas in July has become so popular! Spend the first Saturday of July in Katnook, celebrating the festive holiday at the region’s oldest existing winery, known for its award-winning wine selection

Across their popular cellar door is their ‘terra rossa pit’, where they have a visual of Coonawarra’s famous soil profile that’s behind the region’s wine flavour.

Hosted by winemaker Natalie Cleghorn, the Christmas in July dinner will be held in their beautiful historical stables decorated in hanging native and pine from the rafters with twinkling lights.

S-Christmas Dinner

Despite the sprawling size of land, the stables will be small and intimate, and most importantly, heated, so it will be nice and cosy.

Local catering company St. Bees will be in charge of the delectable winter feast, with all the necessary Christmas trimmings to make your mouth water.

While the menu is yet to be revealed, let us paint a picture for you. Christmas dinner is all about scrumptious ham, simmered gravy on roast and Yorkshire puddings. We can only imagine what the team at Katnook has in store.

In fact, you can look forward to a carved ham and plenty more traditional Martha Stewart-type Christmas fare along the middle of the table.

Oh, and don’t forget to prepare your second stomach for dessert, because they will be serving up a dessert medley to finish your night.

Watch the sun set in Coonawarra’s oldest winery, in their beautifully restored cellar door with spectacular views of the winery’s 155 hectares vineyards.

Don’t forget to try out their sparkling shiraz or their other cellar door wines like the famous Founder’s Block range which have that unique Coonawarra taste or their limited releases of outstanding vintages.
