Celebrate International Women’s Day at the Alma Tavern with Paracombe Wines’ exclusive dinner

This International Women’s Day, Paracombe Wines and Alma Tavern are inviting the community to celebrate women’s achievements with a special Wine Dinner.

This International Women’s Day, Paracombe Wines and the Alma Tavern are inviting the community to celebrate women’s achievements with a special Wine Dinner hosted by Kathy Drogemuller, the owner and co-founder of Paracombe Wines. Kathy is a leader in the Australian wine industry and has played an important role in making Paracombe one of South Australia’s most respected wineries through her passion and innovation.

The event will be held at the Alma Tavern Restaurant in Norwood on Saturday March 8th, and is sure to be a beautiful evening with a delicious four-course dinner paired with seven of Paracombe’s best wines. Guests will also have the opportunity to hear Kathy’s inspiring story and learn about her journey as a successful female leader in a male-dominated industry.

“It’s always wonderful when we grow our grapes and make our wine, and then bring people together around a table and share our stories of how we started and our journey,” Kathy says.

From the moment guests arrive, they’ll enjoy a special dining experience. The evening will begin with a glass of Paracombe’s Sparkling Pinot Noir Chardonnay, perfectly paired with smoked chicken, anchovy mayo, and puffs.

Next, enjoy an entrée featuring Pecorino 2023 and Gruner V5 2021, paired with blood orange-cured trout, pickled cucumber, fennel, dill mayo, and a touch of chili oil. A refreshing palate cleanser of Red Ruby Rosé 2023 will follow.

For the main course, enjoy a rich dish of lamb with taro hashbrown, choron sauce, fried Brussels sprouts, herb yogurt, and mushroom XO, complemented by Montepulciano 2022 and Cabernet Franc 2019. Finally, the meal will finish with a sweet treat of Shiraz caramel, rhubarb, and meringue, paired with the 2014 Somerville Shiraz.

“I always love coming together with hospitality partners in Adelaide and seeing the food that the kitchen produces to pair with our wines, and then seeing people’s delight on their faces when they try the wines and the food together,” Kathy says. “A lot of it is about joy, and the enjoyment of sharing.”

Kathy will also speak about the balancing act of being both a mother to her children and to the winery itself, as well as her dedication to creating wines that reflect sustainability. Guests will learn about the inspiration behind Paracombe’s wines, with Kathy giving a personal backstory on the wines themselves.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, this event will showcase the achievements of women not only in the wine industry but also beyond, making it a great opportunity to raise a glass and celebrate women everywhere.
