Step aside Italian heavyweights of pizza and pasta – today we celebrate the sweetest of Italy’s culinary offerings, the cannoli.

To properly pay homage to the sweet Sicilian staple, cannoli connoisseurs The Cannoli Box Co. are giving away $1 mini cannoli in their ricotta & pistachio flavour all day (or until sold out), so expect lines out the door and around the block!

The Cannoli Box team will also be dishing up some limited edition ricotta strega crema cannoli – available for today only!

The café (or cannoli HQ) is based in Prospect and has spent hours tirelessly preparing for the hordes of hungry cannoli eaters to come through their door on June 16th, prepping hundreds of mini cannoli ready to fly off the shelves for $1 each.

Eager visitors can make their pilgrimage to The Cannoli Box Co. to celebrate the iconic Italian pastry, watching owners John-Paul and Liana expertly pipe each cannoli right in front of their eyes creating a fresh, delicious taste that is simply *chef’s kiss*.

The humble cannoli is a golden, crispy, fried pastry filled with a fresh piping of traditional sweet ricotta, or with the desserts’ more modern reinvention at The Cannoli Box Co., innovative flavours such as Kinder, Ferrero, hazelnut, pistachio and the quintessentially Italian limoncello.

John-Paul Romeo and partner Liana Baldasso began creating their delicious cannolis as a side hustle inside his family-run fruit and veg store, but the dessert emporium has grown exponentially into a thriving business in its own right, relocating to a dedicated cannoli store on Churchill Road, Prospect, last year.

Understanding the people’s love for the cannoli, The Cannoli Box Co. also creates incredible towers of the crispy dessert, which have proved a huge hit with customers and a great twist on the classic special occasion cake. Another creative offering by the team at TCBC are their cannoli grazing platters for a less vertically-challenging take on the pastry.

Whether you’re feeding a long-time cannoli craving or trying this delicious crispy goodness for the first time, you can feel like you’re finally back in Italy today by sampling a sweet cannoli (or three!)

Find The Cannoli Box Co. at 102a Churchill Rd, Prospect between 7am – 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
