Celebrate the biggest SA names in wine for International Women’s Day

The significance of the day is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements and rally for women’s equality.

Showcase SA is set to shine a spotlight on inspiring female leaders from an array of industries at a luncheon hosted by the National Wine Centre on International Women’s Day.

South Australia’s premier networking organisation will be celebrating this hallmark day by gathering together some of South Australia’s most inspiring women in the wine industry.

As International Women’s Day is known for bringing people together, Showcase SA endeavours to echo that sentiment.

International Women’s Day is known globally for celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

The significance of the day is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements and rally for women’s equality. Showcase SA’s luncheon hopes to do the same.

Not only will the luncheon be an opportunity to gather and reflect on the incredible work achieved by women, but it will also be an opportunity to hear from an illustrious panel of guest speakers.

The theme of this year’s luncheon is Cracking the Code: Innovation for a gender equal future.

The panel of guest speakers for this year has just been announced with Bec Hardy from Bec Hardy Wines and Corrina Wright from Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards.

Last year’s speakers included Sandy Verschoor, City of Adelaide council member, Tammy Barton Entrepreneur and Founder of MyBudget, Dr Samantha Pillay, Surgeon and Best Selling Author as well as Kayla Itsines, global fitness trainer and co-founder of Sweat App.

Sandy Verschoor has been a part of Adelaide’s political fabric for many years. She has had a career in both the public and private enterprise, not-for-profits, and Local and State government, including three years as General Manager City Culture and Community Services for the City of Adelaide.

Tammy Barton is one of Australia’s most influential businesswomen and female entrepreneurs. She’s the founding director of MyBudget, a service that Tammy started as a home-based business in South Australia more than 22 years ago (1999), and which has since grown into one of Australia’s most trusted and recognised financial services brands.

Surgeon and best-selling author Dr Samantha Pillay saw a vision to establish a sub-specialty practice bringing the best treatments available to the women of South Australia. She became the first urologist in Australia to exclusively specialise in female and functional urology, establishing Continence Matters in 2002, subsequently building her single surgeon practice into a Centre of Excellence. Samantha was also a nominee for the SA Australian of the Year 2022.

Another Adelaide entrepreneurial giant Kayla Itsines first discovered her passion for empowering women through fitness in 2008 when she began working as a qualified personal trainer in Adelaide at the age of 18. Kayla is now a trailblazer in the women’s fitness industry, creating her High Intensity program for women and co-founding the Sweat App in 2015.

Through the Sweat App and her use of social media, Kayla hopes to give women the tools and confidence to workout and make a positive change in their lives.

So why not participate in one of the world’s most important days of the year by spending it with like-minded people all wanting to advance, support and highlight the wonderful work of inspiring women.

Every year these events have been sold out so gather a group and enjoy a long luncheon and hear from inspiring leaders.
