If there’s anywhere around that know how to make the most of the Winter months it’s our friends at the Uraidla Pub. They’ve got fires and mulled wine completely down pat so it’s no surprise they’ve decided to celebrate the arrival of the colder months with an all-out affair.
Winter Soulstice is the Uraidla’s annual party to welcome in the cooler weather and say goodbye to the year that was. Winter Solstice falls on the shortest day of the year in relation to hours of sunlight and marks the true beginning of Winter.
Traditionally, this day symbolises reflection of life, death and rebirth and is honoured with fire and light so you know Uraidla Hotel are going to put their massive outdoor bonfire to good use.
Held annually, the 4-hour event will be serving up the delicious, meaty eats from BBQ extraordinaires Low and Slow while the Uraidla Red Beer Truck will be parked up slinging Uraidla beer and mulled wine aka the perfect spicy winter warmer.
A bonfire night wouldn’t be complete without some rhythmic, acoustic sounds and local muso Tom Kurzel is the man that will be bringing that to you. His energetic performances will bring the vibe with a range of classics that are sure to get you grooving.
Roving fire twirlers and other performers will also feature throughout the night because when the Uraidla Hotel throw a party, they go all in. This free event is open for all to enjoy but it’s first in best dressed so make sure you get in early to avoid disappointment.
There’s nothing quite like Winter in The Hills because while it may be cold, there’s a certain air of beauty that falls across the region. So grab your mates and a cosy jacket and head on up to say goodbye the year that’s been and welcome in the start of a fresh 6 months to come!
