Winter Reds is coming back to Nepenthe in 2025, and this time it’s all about comfort, flavour, and celebrating life’s most cracking moments.
Taking over the Nepenthe Cellar Door on Saturday, July 26th and Sunday, July 27th, Winter Reds on the Hill is going to be a weekend packed with delicious red wine, local music, woodfired food, and total good vibes, all in the beautiful Adelaide Hills.
“We absolutely love Winter Reds, it’s one of our favourite times of the year,” shared the Nepenthe team. “It gives us the chance to share our wines in a relaxed, beautiful setting, and show people just how special winter in the Hills can be.”

Across the weekend you’ll be able to kick back and relax at their cosy cellar door, with your family and friends, while learning a bit more about the almost thirty year old Balhannah winery.
They’ll be offering daily mini-masterclasses at 11am, 1pm and 3:30pm, letting you try the very best of their cool-climate reds. If you’re yet to try Nepenthe’s wines, or if it’s your top pick, this is a chance to discover classics and a few surprises along the way. Spots are limited for this part of the event, so be sure to line up early to secure your place.
“This year we’re pouring some of our special releases alongside fan favourites. It’s the perfect time to try what makes Adelaide Hills reds so unique,” shared the team.

Of course, no winter wine weekend is complete without some delicious local food. Luckily, Brasco’s Pizzeria will be firing up traditional wood-fired pizzas, and the team from Melissi is serving up their signature souvlaki and Greek doughnuts.
“We’ve got some great local teams cooking up food designed to complement the wines. With pizzas, souvlaki, doughnuts and more, it’s totally the kind of food you just crave in winter.”
The Nepenthe Winter Reds weekend will be soundtracked by a few local acoustic artists. Zara K and Leo Zerella will be bringing the groove on Saturday, and Ruby Zootjens and Juliet Oliver will be bringing the energy on Sunday.
“We’re so excited to have these great local artists part of the event!”
To top it off, there’ll be firepits to keep you warm and stunning Adelaide Hills views to be the backdrop for your day. Plus, with a first entry ticket, you’ll get a commemorative Adelaide Hills Wine glass and your first pour free, or if you’re hopping between venues and already have your glass, you’ll still be treated to that first glass on the house.
This is a total must-do this winter, so grab your friends, family and enjoy a weekend of wine in the Hills!
