Celebrate women ‘Raising the Bar’ this International Women’s Day at the Strathmore Hotel

Adelaide’s Strathmore Hotel will host an International Women’s Day long lunch celebrating women in the drinks industry while raising funds for Catherine House.

There’s something special about Adelaide when people come together over great food and beautiful drinks and this International Women’s Day, that spirit is being celebrated in the most stylish way. The Strathmore Hotel will again play host to its second annual intimate lunch that celebrates not only the women shaping our drinks industry, but the collective impact women can make when they choose to support one another.

At its heart, this event is about giving back. A portion of ticket sales, along with all wine wall / raffle proceeds, will support the vital work of Catherine House, an organisation that has quietly and consistently supported women experiencing homelessness in South Australia. Guests will hear from Jaylee Cooper, who will share how community support helps women experiencing homelessness find safety, rebuild dignity and create new possibilities for their future.

“We’re excited to welcome everyone to celebrate, connect, and support the incredible work of Catherine House this International Women’s Day,’ says Meg Daniel from The Strathmore. “It’s a chance to raise a glass together while making a real difference in our community”

Set against a backdrop of fine wines and carefully curated cocktails, the afternoon brings together an inspiring group of leaders whose work spans winemaking, distilling, flavour and hospitality. At the centre of the conversation is keynote speaker Sarah Marquis of Mollydooker Wines, whose career is defined by courage, creativity and forging her own path.

The discussion will be guided by chief storyteller Katie Spain, returning in 2026 to again weave together the personal journeys, challenges and defining moments of women who are changing the face of the drinks world locally and beyond.

Joining the conversation are women whose influence stretches across South Australia and the global stage, including voices from Brown-Forman, Flavour Logic, Ginny Pig Distillery and Bird in Hand, each bringing a different perspective on leadership, resilience and craft.

Think long lunch energy, meaningful conversations and a genuine sense of purpose, celebrating women while contributing to change that stays right here in South Australia.

This International Women’s Day, Adelaide women and allies of women will be raising a glass to achievements, connection, and the power of community. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to head along!
