Celebrate World Art Deco Day with Gatsby style

Don your favourite jewels and fashion of the era, and slink down to Piccadilly Cinemas with ADMSA to party like it’s 1935.

To mark the inaugural World Art Deco Day on 28 April, Art Deco and Modernism Society of Australia (ADMSA) Adelaide Chapter are hosting an “Opera” in North Adelaide.

Evoking the chic style of the ’20s and ’30s at North Adelaide’s Piccadilly Cinemas, a location built in classic Art Deco style in 1940. The night includes a live performance, drinks, a film screening and, of course, dress up!

This is your ideal opportunity to mingle with those who also have a love and appreciation for the Art Deco era, while also enjoying the stylings and cultural offerings from that era.

“Nearly one hundred years on, millennials are embracing the simplicity and elegance presented by art deco architecture, interior design and fashion – connecting it with modern luxury and global trends in design, fashion
and colour pallets,” said President of ADMSA, David O’Loughlin.

Guests will receive a complimentary drink and canapés on arrival, with a performance by acclaimed Adelaide string quartet, Vivente Ensemble. This will be followed by a screening of A Night at the Opera, a Marx Brothers film from the Art Deco period.

World Art Deco Day celebrations at Piccadilly to be held from 6PM until 10PM on April 28th 2021.

$35 for ADMSA members and $40 for non-members. Find tickets here
