It’s almost time for the June long weekend and not that we need an excuse to get our drink on, but it’s also World Gin Day! We know how much you guys love a good class of gin, so to celebrate this glorious occasion on Saturday, June 10th, the lovely folks at Hains & Co are throwing a ‘Gin Garden Party’ – we can hardly contain our excitement.
World Gin Day launched in 2009, by virtue of the belief that gin should be commemorated with its own dedicated day (we could not agree more). The idea is to unite all the gin lovers and spirit drinkers of the world to get together over a classic G&T, an elaborate gin cocktail or even just a neat glass for the brave amongst us. Lucky for us, Hains & Co are here to help us all do exactly that. After the enormous success of last year’s event, this year they’ve promised an even bigger and better party with all the gin you could possibly dream of.
Hidden down the inconspicuous alleyway that is Gilbert Place, Hains & Co is adorned with just the right touch of nautical décor to transcend you into a warmly lit ship’s interior like the sea-faring sailors of yore. And we all know a sailor cannot pillage without a good ol’ glass of the juniper spirit. Hains & Co have got us covered on this front, as since their opening in 2015, they’ve become renowned as the place to go for high-end and specialty gins.
The gin geniuses themselves are setting up a Gin Garden out the front complete with white picket fencing, faux lawn, flower pots and jars of gin botanicals dotted around. How crazy good does that sound? The party kicks off around 6pm and at each hour on the hour, they’ll be introducing another gin with Brand Ambassadors on hand to give you all the info you need. The gin of the hour will feature as a G&T and specialised cocktail, plus you’ll also get the chance to get a little cultural and sample different gins from around the world, including:
