Glam Adelaide and Showcase SA have partnered with some of the biggest names and biggest hearts in our state for the SA4SA Bushfire Appeal Gala Dinner on January 31, and while tickets to the gala are sold out, the auction is open to the public for bidding.
Proceeds from the auction, which is currently accepting pre-bids, will be donated to the state government’s Bushfire Appeal, founded to support locals who are bearing the brunt of the widespread damage across Cudlee Creek and Kangaroo Island.
Guests will then be able to bid again during the live auction at the Adelaide Convention Centre, where all items are priced significantly below their retail value.
Local and internationally-celebrated chef, Duncan Welgemoed, has gone above and beyond to rally stars in Australian food culture for a slew of unique, fine-dining experiences.
Among other great auction items, Duncan has recently announced that Marco Pierre White, chef royalty and long-time mentor to Welgemoed, will dine with eight lucky bidders at Africola on East Terrace in April.
Guests can also bid for the chance to eat courtesy of My Kitchen Rule’s Manu Feidel and Welgemoed himself at Karrawatta Winery in the Adelaide Hills.
Other names offering their time and food include Paul Bentley, Masterchef judge Melissa Leong, and the team at beloved CBD eatery Low and Slow.
In addition to donating to the CFS, profits raised from all Welgemoed’s dinners will be split across the Adelaide Hills Wine Region Fire Appeal and fire-devastated vineyards Vinteloper and Tilbrook Estate.
Alternatively, if you’re after experiences of a different variety — or maybe just a goodie basket — the auction has you covered as well.
Bid on a $22K VIP getaway at the Barossa Valley, trips to Maggie Beer’s Orchard House and Seppeltsfield winery, and gin blending workshops at Third Street Distillery and Seppeltsfield.
For the more adventurous, you could have the chance to test drive Ferrari racing cars, go four-wheel driving on the Kangaroo Gully beach, or enjoy a night out with friends alongside a 50-litre keg from Prancing Pony Brewery.
Other auction items include corporate seating at Adelaide United, tailored business coaching from Pink Lime Digital, and many generously donated food and wine packages.
While tickets to the Gala Dinner are now sold out, the public can still bid by visiting the SA4SA Bushfire Appeal page to bid or make a direct donation.
