Celebs Launch 25th Anniversary of Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal

Australia’s largest Christmas gift appeal will celebrate its 25th Anniversary in Adelaide this week.

The Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal has collected over five million gifts on behalf of the Salvation Army over the past 24 years, providing essential help to families in need over the festive period.

This year with more families needing help than ever before, the goal is to collect 500,000 gifts which is the highest ever target.

To celebrate this exciting milestone, well-known Australian personalities will come together to place the first gifts under the Christmas tree to officially celebrate the 2012 Appeal at the brand new Kmart store in Rundle Mall.

Famous faces will include entertainer Shannon Noll who will be performing, media personality Lisa McAskill, children's entertainer Humphrey B Bear, The Four Seasons from The Jersey Boys, and Adelaide United players Bruce Djite and Fabian Barbiero.
