channel9Channel Nine Adelaide is lending a helping hand to sick children throughout South Australia, announcing the Team Kids Easter Appeal, which will go to air live on Channel Nine Adelaide on Monday April 6 2015.

The station will join with the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation, the SA Government, The Advertiser and Sunday Mail, to create the live-television event, which will bring together local and national celebrities to raise funds for Adelaide’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

The appeal will be seen across Adelaide, South-East regional South Australia on The WIN Network and to the Spencer Gulf and Broken Hill on the Southern Cross Austereo Network.

Channel Nine Adelaide Managing Director Sean O’Brien said the six-and-a-half-hour appeal, to be broadcast from Channel Nine’s Kevin Crease Studio in North Adelaide, will be one of the biggest live broadcasts ever in Adelaide.

“This will be the fundraising event of the year and the team here at Channel Nine is excited to get behind the appeal to raise important money for the kids of SA,” he said

“We have a long and proud tradition of supporting South Australian organisations, events and charities, and when we looked at ways we could help even more the decision to create an annual appeal was a very easy one.

“In April next year we will bring some of the biggest names in the television and entertainment industry together for this live event, all with one goal: to raise as much money as possible.”

The appeal is a kick-start to the $40 million the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation hopes to raise for sick kids and their families over the next 10 years.
