Charlotte Dalton & Cooke Brothers at The Joinery and Billy Dohnt are hosting an epic long lunch

In a long lunch impressive enough to forego Sunday Roast, Billy Dohnt will be serving up a 5-course menu paired with exclusive drops from Charlotte Dalton and Cooke Brothers Wines this Sunday.

If you’re looking for a way to soak up in the sunshine forecast for this Sunday, then look no further than The Joinery x Billy Dohnt Long Lunch.

In a long lunch impressive enough to forego Sunday Roast, Billy Dohnt will be serving up a five course menu paired with exclusive drops from Charlotte Dalton and Cooke Brothers Wines this Sunday at The Joinery.

The long lunch will see Charlotte Dalton and the Cooke Brother’s Port Elliot cellar door transformed into a cellar-bration (excuse the pun) of the Fleurieu Peninsula’s and the South Coast’s food and wine.

“Ben and I are thrilled to team with Billy Dohnt Does for our long table, long lunch,” Charlotte says.

“Billy is local, and his food is legendary (he also has the best moustache on the coast).

“Billy is treating diners to a really diverse menu which is a dream for us for wine matching.”

The Long Lunch follows The Joinery x Africola collaboration lunch in August.

Billy Dohnt’s mouth-watering menu includes an entrée of garfish with prawn, leek souffle, butter sauce and salmon roe.

Billy will also be slinging grass-fed beef fillet with creamed garlic spinach bearnaise sauce and McLaren Vale free-range pork belly with witlof, apple and pomegranate salad.

“I’m a big believer in using local produce,” Billy says.

“All of the protein – including the garfish, pork and beef – is from small South Australian producers, it has never been a more important time than now to support your local farmer.

“The bones of The Joinery are giving people a raw and relaxed environment to come and try my food. There’s no formality, which is what the South Coast embodies, and what this lunch will offer.”

Charlotte and Ben’s cellar door and winery, The Joinery, which is in the creative hub on the outskirts of Port Eliot, Factory 9 will host the event.

This precinct is also home to De Groot Coffee, Lauren Weir Studio and Gallery, Huw McConachy Furniture Design and Rollo, a hair salon owned by Billy’s wife, Bernadette.

Billy Dohnt x The Joinery is on Sunday, 8 November 12.30 pm-4.30 pm at The Joinery at Factory 9, 91 Hill St, Port Elliot.

You can purchase tickets here for $150pp.
