Summer is about to get hotter with Chilli Fest returning to Willunga.
From Saturday February 18th to Sunday February 19th 2023, Chilli Fest will be bringing a weekend of all things spicy.
Bring your family, and meet your friends under the trees at the Willunga Rec Park on Main Road, and enjoy chilli products from the Fleurieu and beyond.
With oodles of stalls offering tastings of their amazing chilli concoctions, talks on how to grow, cook and enjoy chillies, and even arty crafty types selling their chilli creations, there’s something for everyone.

Stock up on all things Chilli – sauce, oils, plants, relish, rocky road. (Rocky Road? Yep. Don’t
knock it till you’ve tried it.)
Food trucks will be offering an array of chilli inspired tucker for meat-eaters, vegetarians, vegans – everyone in fact. And what could be better than washing down the hot stuff with local beers, wines or the famous Willunga Rec Park Sangria while enjoying the music of locals like Anthony McCann, Motty Music, Suedan and Dustbowl Chic.
A feature of Chilli Fest 2023 is the inaugural Hot Sauce Competition. Entries have come in from across Australia and will be initially scored by Mr Chilli himself, Danny Wilson of Up in Smoke Chilli Reviews. The finalists will be judged by local celebrity judges, including Andy Clappis from Our Place on Willunga Hill and Norma of Whites Valley Jalapeños.
If you fancy yourself to be a gun hot sauce judge, there’s a spot for you on the panel too. Just enter your deets here: https://linktr.ee/ChilliFestWillunga. Entries must be in by tomorrow (Thursday 2nd February).

Lorraine from Hillside Herbs will be bringing her truckload of chilli plants for punters to stock up on. Grab a few, then listen to Gardening Genius, Sophie Thomson on Saturday morning at 11am on how to best keep them alive, followed by cooking demonstrations from local Fleurieu Chilli Experts all weekend.
Jackie of Fleurieu Food and Wine will be sharing her love of chillies on Saturday at noon. Then the next day, Jackie will host an amazing cooking workshop just around the corner at Ortus Wines.
The Willunga festival will be a ‘chilli’ shoppers delight with 19 chilli inspired stalls, plus local artists, local produce to enhance your cooking and dining experiences. And for those who like a wander, there is the Hill to High Street Chilli Trail; follow the red hot chillies to local pubs, galleries and cafés for all manner of “chilli” experiences and goodies.
