Check out 37 locally-made video games at the South Australian Game Exhibition this summer

Explore the vibrant world of video gaming at SAGE 2025 in Adelaide, featuring 37 local video games, new studios, and expert talks—all free at the Adelaide Fringe.

Check it out, gamers of Adelaide: if you’ve been craving some new games of late, there’s a huge event coming up in February that’ll scratch that itch for you – and, it’s free! The South Australian Game Exhibition (SAGE) is returning to Adelaide Studios on February 7 and 8 next year, offering an impressive lineup of 37 new video games developed right here in South Australia.

As part of the Fringe’s jam-packed schedule, this family-friendly exhibition promises to extend its legacy as Adelaide’s premier video game showcase. Featuring new titles from both established and emerging local studios, gamers can expect to try out some fresh and innovative gaming experiences for mobile, PC, console, and VR. 14 new studios will be participating at SAGE for the first time, offering first looks at unreleased games, interactive sessions with developers, and insights into career opportunities.

The diverse collection of upcoming releases includes intriguing games like “The Sacred Acorn” by A Few Dragons and “The Suit Case” by ABM Visual. “End of Ember” from Bad Plan Studios and “Dungeons and Dining Tables” by Catalyst Games will also be on display, along with “Crimson Cutlass” from Cerulean Creative Studios.

Beyond the games themselves, the exhibition will also offer educational talks and panel discussions as part of their “SAGE Advice” program. National industry experts, partner organisations, and local developers will be on hand to offer advice and industry insights to the budding game developers of tomorrow.

There’s also an awards show to recognise outstanding contributions to the video game scene. $2000 will be awarded for Best in Exhibition, and a $1000 legal services package will be granted to the winner of the SAGE Elevate Award.

Touching on the two-day exhibition, Arts Minister Andrea Michaels said “It’s fantastic to have SAGE back at the South Australian Film Corporation for 2025! South Australia’s games sector is an incredibly exciting industry that is growing rapidly.”

“Our state is home to brilliant creative minds, and the games industry presents significant opportunities for South Australia. The event brings together video game designers, studios, and fans to connect and collaborate.”

SAGE’s program in 2025 is set to offer gaming enthusiasts an engaging and education event, once again demonstrating South Australia’s vibrant video game scene. Free to the public, the South Australian Game Exhibition allows everyone to connect through the medium of video games, not only highlighting the technological prowess and creativity of South Australia’s gaming industry, but also fostering a sense of interconnectedness among the global community.
