Attention Adelaide musos! After a month of being closed for renovations, the beloved independent music store, Clarity Records is back open for trading.

Having closed in September, Clarity Records have undergone renovations to double the size of the shop, resulting in more of everything from records, books, merchandise and most importantly, more space!

Specialising in imported music from around the world, Clarity records has a strong focus on Pun and Hardcore products, with sections that cater to many styles of music such as Metal, Indie, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Soul, Funk, Prog and much more! Clarity Records aims to support all local music by stocking a large range of music from Adelaide and Australia.

After 12 years in the cosy little store, owners Matt and Laura Horvath have revelled in the success of their record shop, deciding to expand into the neighbouring tenancy, and introducing an all-ages live music space and video channel.

The launch of Clarity Sessions, inspired by NPR’s renowned Tiny Desk series, will serve as a live video channel streaming on-site performances

With one of Clarity Record’s main missions being to support the local music scene, the store’s newest face-lift will also feature the launch of Matt Horvath’s new podcast Underground Sounds, which will unravel the history of the Adelaide music scene. The podcast will converse with local figures who have had an influence on Horvath and made an impact on the wider music community.

Musicians aren’t the only artists on show in the new store! Customers can flick through the latest tunes whilst admiring the new mural painted in funky hues of the shops signature blue by artist Kerri Wright. The store also features a brand new wood cut from counter sign, hand painted and each piece individually mounted by artist Owen Foley. Customers can also marvel at the many new books on the book wall as well as poster rack, while being swept away by the beautiful “Yingir People” Emro rug by Budjalung aritst, Zoey Hart.
