This summer, honorary South Aussie (and Formula One racing legend) Valtteri Bottas, has been back down under, enjoying the sunshine. During his visit, he visited a bunch of local businesses and experienced some of the best food, wine, and activities the state has to offer. We’ve curated a list of a few amazing places he’s visited, so here’s our guide, or shall we say Valtteri’s guide, to a summer in SA!

Atta Boy, Henley Beach
Famous for his bright blonde mullet, Valtteri visited Atta Boy in Henley Beach for a fresh cut and colour. He left looking like a true Aussie!

Baird Bay Experience, Eyre Peninsula
Valtteri and his partner Tiffany went swimming with wild sea lions and dolphins in Baird Bay with Baird Bay experience. Baird Bay Experience offers the adventure of a lifetime swimming with these protected species in their natural environment.

Casa Barbera, Clare Valley
During his time in the Clare Valley, Valtteri stayed at Casa Barbera, a contemporary rural accommodation, nestled within a boutique Barbera vineyard. This spot has tonnes of natural greenery and is two bed, two bath. Located in the heart of the Clare Valley, this is a great house for those who want to get out and explore this fantastic region.

Kilikanoon Wines, Clare Valley
Valtteri and Tiffany spent plenty of time in the Clare Valley this summer and explored heaps of wineries and eateries. One of the stops along the way was Kilikanoon. Kilikanoon is a popular winery in the region, established back in 1997. They’re known for their diverse and elegant wines.

Magpie and Stump Hotel, Clare Valley
Valtteri enjoyedmount lofty some time at the Magpie and Stump Hotel in the Clare Valley. This charming Clare Valley pub is the perfect venue to kick back and enjoy a meal with family and friends.

Oliver’s Taranga, McLaren Vale
This summer Valtteri has worked in collaboration with the team at Oliver’s Taranga to create the second vintage of his Ihana Shiraz. Oliver’s Taranga is located in McLaren Vale, and makes delicious small-batch, handmade wines.

Sequoia, Adelaide Hills
Valtteri and Tiffany spent some time in the Adelaide Hills before Christmas, staying at the beautiful Sequoia. Located at Mount Lofty House, this luxury lodge has become known for its stunning views and wildlife, with an elegant design to match.

Slate Restaurant at Pikes Wines, Clare Valley
Valtteri hit up Slate Restaurant at Pikes Wines for a delicious meal and a glass of Clare Valley red! late Restaurant offers modern Australian cuisine, highlighting the best local produce from the region, with seasonal fruits and vegetables from their kitchen garden featuring in most dishes.

Rumi on Louth, Eyre Peninsula
Whilst on the Eyre Peninsula Valtteri checked out Rumi on Louth, which is South Australia’s first-ever private luxury eco accommodation. Rumi on Louth is an untouched private island that can be experienced by luxuriating in a stay or through a mix of truly immersive signature experiences.

Watervale General Store, Clare Valley
Valtteri is known for being an avid coffee drinker even having his own coffee brand, and one of the spots he stopped for coffee was at the Watervale General Store. Another Clare Valley destination, the Watervale General Store sells a range of gourmet produce made in-house under the guidance of 2022 South Australian Chef of the Year Nicola Palmer.
