Cheeky Chook Eats is taking chicken shops to another level (but not another price)

As celebrity chef, Adam Swanson’s levelled-up chicken shop turns one, the venue is offering a heap of deals to celebrate their birthday.

Plans have been set, arrangements have been made, and the dining section is back open with Cheeky Chook Eats’ reopening of sorts.

Having traded on a takeaway and delivery basis throughout the hardest months of the restriction efforts, Cheeky Chook Eats never faltered in delivering (in every definition) the clean, delicious, house-made food they’re known for.

As celebrity chef Adam Swanson’s brainchild turns one, we’re taking a look down why this venue is so beloved amongst locals and new visitors alike.

To Adam, Cheeky Chook Eats is the “relaxed and enjoyable side of being a chef.”

It’s a sentiment that travels across the offerings, it’s all comfortable and enjoyable food.

But it’s necessary to make a clear distinction, that this is not your average chicken shop; it’s not a childhood nostalgia and adulthood guilty pleasure, Cheeky Chook Eats offers brilliant dining.

Their chickens that spend 24-48 hours just drying in the fridge show that care in their taste.

Their standout burgers, full of fresh ingredients and wrapped lovingly in a soft bun, are a favourite amongst the steady incline of new visitors and loyal fans alike.

Like all chicken shops, a salad is a must and Cheeky Chook have levelled theirs up with gourmet ingredients, options change frequently so check their salads board for the latest.

Their piece de resistance of course is their twice cooked chips. So spectacularly crispy, but full of the pillowy softness within, its taste truly a feat in the hot chip world.

And it’s not just on site, with their catering services, whether it be group feeds to three courses meals, they truly cater to everyone.

And catering is something that’s important to the team with the levy of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options available.

Just speak to their friendly staff for direction.

This quality focussed cooking is reflected in their seasonal choices, and their amazing value is evident. Need we mention their $20 steak and chips with truffle butter.

The kitchen features a standout rotisserie oven, and their use of charcoal (from which their beloved smoky charcoal bacon is produced) provide the tools for spontaneous new menu items.

A given considering Adam’s explorative skills, and the ability to make something thoughtful out of leftovers.

What you need to be watching out for are the daily specials, which can be anything, from chicken and broccolini soup, or lamb shanks, to twice cooked pork belly.

That’s paired with their delightful Cheeky Chook premium lager and apple crush cider. Pints are $8, and go down to $5 when you buy it with a schnitty, or on Saturdays between 3pm to 8pm (and why wouldn’t you).

Their return to pre-COVID-19 form is also just the start for Cheeky Chook Ears. Keep an eye on what they’re up to by visiting them on Facebook.

Most importantly, Cheeky Chook Eats will, as Adam says, continue “letting the produce shine.”
