Cheese and Cakes – A Beautiful Marriage!

Cheese CakeThe Smelly Cheese Shop has entered a whole new realm, with the announcement if their brand new service – supplying cheese wedding cakes to brides looking for a unique and sophisticated alternative to the traditional wedding cake.

Tania Cavaiuolo, a chef with over 10 years experience, will manage this new service under her own name in conjunction with The Smelly Cheese Shop.

Tania has created many wedding cakes during her time as a chef and catered for countless receptions and brides to be.

Her passion for cheese drove her to work more closely with this product and led to her taking a role managing The Smelly Cheese Shop at the Adelaide Central Markets, suppliers of a wide range of local and imported speciality cheeses.

It was during this time, around 7 years ago that she first discovered the trend for cakes made from cheese.

“Cakes made from cheese are a great option for weddings as they can be cut and served as one of the courses,” says Tania.

“The cakes are also growing in popularity for use on other occasions such as birthdays or anniversaries,” she says.

Now working in the wholesale division at Say Cheese, Tania has access to a wide range of both local and imported cheeses in peak condition from which to construct her unique designs.

“Of course the cake has to look good, but it also has to taste fantastic.  Because I know firsthand the quality and attention to detail that has been paid to the cheese, from where it is sourced, to how it travels and the way in which it is stored, I can be confident I am supplying the best possible quality product,” says Tania.

Knowing which cheeses are eating well at the time of the event is also crucial to creating the best impact when it finally arrives on the table.

The creations range in price upward from $250 and delivery is free within the Adelaide metropolitan area.
