Australia’s biggest cheese festival CheeseFest is back this month at Rymill Park (Murlawirrapurka), and this year they’re adding a Friday night event to the mix.

The three-day festival, which is part of this year’s Bloom collective will be held from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th October and will showcase the finest local cheeses, food producers, chefs, and beverages from across South Australia.

Adding to their already stellar line-up, the crew have created a new evening event for the opening night. Festival Director Kris Lloyd AM says, “We are excited to add an extra session to this year’s CheeseFest. The Friday session will commence at 4pm and will include live music from a fabulous selection of local musicians, Never Never G&T Bar, The Beer and Cider Garden, Burrata Bar, Haloumi Bar and delicacies from our carefully curated selection of restaurants”.

The demo stage will kick off on Saturday, with Lloyd saying, “We are thrilled to have some of South Australia’s best chefs who are giving their time to entertain us on the Cooking demo stage.  Full of laughs, beautiful food, and nothing short of a stellar lineup of our best-known food personalities including Simon Bryant, Laura Sharrad, Jake Kellie, Kane Pollard, and Karena Armstrong to name a few”.

Our local South Australian producers will be on hand showcasing their world-class produce in what has been a tough 18 months for the food and hospitality industry.

“We are so excited to bring CheeseFest back to Adelaide and can’t wait for festival-goers to enjoy an extra night of entertainment, food, and beverages on Friday night. SA Health have further eased restrictions allowing standing consumption and single serve sampling which our patrons will be able to enjoy. We are very lucky to be able to bring one of South Australia’s much loved foodie events back during this time for all to enjoy and we hope that South Australians’ will get behind us and support this event that supports many different industries.”

South Australian Tourism Commission chief executive Rodney Harrex says, “It is a great event that celebrates all of the iconic tastes of South Australia, and to be able to include a Friday evening session, this gives city employees even more reason to stay in the CBD after work and have knock-offs with a twist”.

Some of this year’s CheeseFest producers include Udder Delights, Spring Gully Foods, La Casa Del Formaggio, Never Never Gin, Alexandrina Cheese Company, Salopian Inn, Golden North, Kimbolton Wines, Coriole Vineyards, and San Jose Smallgoods with more to be revealed in the coming weeks.
