World-renowned chef David Thompson, known for contributing to the mainstreaming of Thai food in Western cuisine, comes to Adelaide for two exclusive arkhé and friends events in April.
The Michelin-starred chef, author and TV personality will be running a master cooking demonstration and banquet dinner, contributing to Tasting Australia’s rich line-up of top-tier events.
Joining David for his two culinary offerings will be celebrity chefs Martin Boetz (formerly of Longrain, Sydney/Melbourne) and Louis Tikaram (Stanley Restaurant, Brisbane) along with arkhé restaurant’s Executive Chef Jake Kellie.
Diners will be given an opportunity to observe the heavy-weight chefs during a cooking demonstration, held on Saturday 29th April in arkhé’s open space kitchen at an intimate 40-person event. Perfectly positioned around the counters that surround the kitchen at the helm of the venue, where the action takes place.
Guests will be taken through three key dishes before being presented with each dish. It’s like having three private chefs at your fingertips.
Each dish will be skillfully paired with a wine curated by arkhé Sommelier Bhatia Dheeraj. Lovers of Thai cuisine should be quick to jump at this never to be repeated, interactive dining experience.
For something a little more abuzz with social activity, the four big hitters of the culinary world will be joining forces to put on a three-course Thai BBQ banquet on Sunday evening the 30th of April.
Expect big flavours and even bigger energy for a dining experience worthy of the global stage, but better yet as there is no need to travel to Bangkok with David Thompson at your doorstep.
With several Michelin stars under his belt and having been featured in the world’s top 50 best restaurants, David has made it his mission to bring the streets of Bangkok to people all over the world providing nothing less than the best traditional Thai experience.
Joining Thompson in producing what is set to be the banquet feast of the year is award-winning chef Martin Boetz, who has accumulated an impressive 36 chefs hats during his career.
Taking a masterful spin on modern Thai and Southern Chinese cuisine, Boetz is the former Executive Chef of Longrain Melbourne and Sydney.
Also adding to the impressive lineup is Brisbane-based, globally celebrated chef Louis Tikaram who boasts a long and lustrous career overseas and first served as an apprentice at Longrain, under Chef Martin Boetz, who would become Tikaram’s long-term mentor.
He went on to work at E.P and L.P in Hollywood before returning to Australia to open the acclaimed Stanley Restaurant.
This story culminates and concludes in the arkhé kitchen where Executive Chef Jake Kellie will collaborate in producing what is bound to be a spectacular series of dining events.
Book a seat at the counter or in the restaurant and enjoy the dynamic energy from the kitchen while biting into world-class signature dishes from all four chefs in this not-to-be-missed opportunity for lovers of modern Thai and Chinese cuisine.
