The Festival of Now is the highlight to Mental Health Week held in Rundle Park on World Mental Health Day. It features workshops, drumming, guided walks, live music and comedians.
The year’s special guest Simon Bryant will be hosting a cooking demonstration to remind us of the importance of now just eating well, but the ritual of preparing it – and how simple it can be.
Being present and mindful are just some of the ways you can help your mental health. Food is also important and that’s not just eating it, but its preparation too.
“I believe in owning your food preparation,” says Chef Simon Bryant. “It means taking pride, ownership and responsibility for yourself.”
“It can also say I’m sharing something important with those I love by putting food on the table.”
“When you are having trouble dealing with everyday tasks, cooking can be overwhelming,” says Bryant. “But if you use food as a starting point for other activities it reminds you that ultimately you are caring for yourself.”
Cooking demonstrations will be held at 12pm and 2pm.
