You’ve heard of Paint ‘n Sip, but let us introduce to you the revolutionary concept that is a ‘Chip ‘n Sip’.
What is a ‘Chip ‘n Sip’ you ask? A ‘Chip ‘n Sip’ is the newest offering from Limestone Coast native Wangolina wines that lets you enjoy curated wine and potato chip tastings.
The humble chippie, crisp or potato chip. There are no shortage of opinions on oil ratio, the cut, the seasonings or agriculture to name a few. Nevertheless, this crunchy vessel of starchy glory has deserved adoration around the globe.
After months of sourcing samples, and strenuous evenings of chippie analysis in the lab, the team at Wangolina have constructed a ‘Chip ‘n Sip’ menu available at its cellar door. It features a sample-sized flight of chippies (some household favourites and some more adventurous flavours), each paired with one of its wines.
“We just had a lightbulb moment one day and thought that there is no shortage of novelty food pairings on the internet, but why can’t we offer something legitimate that is also very niche?
“The idea of the flight was loosely based on microbreweries offering an assortment of beer flights with the option of having food at the same time,” said Daniel from Wangolina.
The team at Wangolina really committed to finding the best possible chips for the job.
“The wine and chip flight went live about 2 weeks ago and we had so much fun ‘researching’ what chips would go together with our wines. It gives people a playful way to sample our wines,” Daniel said.
Wangolina currently has just one flight with four wines and four flavours of chips.
“We have a Sauvignon Blanc paired with a Smiths Salt and Vinegar or if you like a fuller-bodied wine we have a red paired with a Rosemary and Thyme flavoured chip,” Daniel said.
The Chip ‘n Sip flight is available for $15pp, with Wangolina’s new 6 wine flight pairing ‘Versus’ which compares and contrasts 3 Wangalina wines versus 3 other rare varieties available for $35pp.
Find Wangolina’s cellar door at 8 Limestone Coast Rd, Wangolina SA 5275.
