Chocolate and strawberries have always been a romantic gesture, but for Berry Pop founder Rosa Irranca, they combine to become edible centrepieces and gifts.
Berry Pop’s arrangements of couture chocolate-coated strawberries and dried fruits offer an alternative to the traditional centrepiece and extend the notion of communal eating practices.
“The notion of friends or family coming together for a meal and reaching in to pick the chocolate-dipped fruits appealed to me,” Rosa says.
“It’s very communal and encourages sharing and bringing people together.”
Presenting the arrangements in urns, boxes, ceramics and pots with organza, the edible arrangements create a surprising and unique way of presenting a gift of love and beauty.
“Chocolate and strawberries are such a romantic gesture. They are fun, indulgent and satisfy the senses of sight, taste and smell,” Rosa says.
“I wanted my pieces to be enveloped in something complementing the romantic notion, the idea of one presenting a gift to another as a sign of love, happiness and friendship.”
Berry Pop carefully selects each design’s fruits, colours and bases to complement the occasion.
Strawberries can be accented with dried peaches, pears, figs and dates and each fruit can be decorated with coconut, sprinkles, freckles, glitter, sugar butterflies stars and gold leaf.
