Adelaide’s only award-winning Cellar Door Fest is returning to the Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday 24th February – Sunday 26th February. There are so many wonderful events on offer throughout the festival days that can add enjoyment and education to the overall experience.
Adelaide Hills’ Red Cacao Chocolatier has introduced a new element to the Cellar Door Fest this year with their Chocolate and Wine Trail. The trail allows those who are attending to taste their way through different wine regions, where they will find participating wineries with a “Chocolate and Wine Match” on offer. Some pairings are made to complement one another, giving a balanced and indulging experience, whereas others are designed to contrast and challenge the guest, opening up new flavours and notes within both the chocolate and the wine.
There will be a map provided to assist the locating of the participating wineries, of which there are five, providing a range of different wine varietals. Wines such as Bleasdale’s Malbec and Vinteloper’s Touriga Nacional are paired with flavours like violet, coconut and strawberry. Try Jeanneret’s Merlot Shiraz with a raspberry dark chocolate block, Schild Estate’s Sparkling Shiraz with a strawberry and green peppercorn block or Dog Ridge’s Chardonnay with Cashew & Paillete Feuilletine Milk Chocolate Block.
Guests will also be given a scorecard in which they can rate the respective wines and chocolates as they taste them. This experience will provide an educational and interactive dimension to the festival for all attending.
