After weeks of build-up, Bad Neighbour, the cheeky new sibling to Chocolate Boys, officially opened its doors over the weekend in Harbour Town.
The new cafe marks a fresh chapter for Simon Flocco and Stefan Nestrovic – the duo behind some of Adelaide’s most recognisable food ventures, including 50sixone and Munchies. Where Chocolate Boys built its reputation on over-the-top desserts and glossy Dubai-style chocolate strawberries, Bad Neighbour brings a savoury, sando-fuelled edge.
“We only had four weeks to open a whole new business from scratch,” says Simon. “We managed to do it in three — which gave us one week to train a brand-new team and settle in before launch.”
“Considering the time frame, we are very happy with what we have achieved and the outcome overall. The customers have only made positive comments and absolutely love our coffee,” he adds.

The two concepts share one space, each side with its own identity. Chocolate Boys keeps its signature red and white palette, while Bad Neighbour contrasts with fresh green and white. The halves meet in the middle – one side stacked with deli meats, the other lined with strawberries and melted chocolate – serving the sweet tooths, the savoury feinds, and everyone in between.
“They clash a little, but in a fun way,” Stefan laughs. “It’s all about that energy. Even our social media will bounce off each other like siblings.”

As for what to order, the Three Meats Melt – mortadella, salami, and gypsy ham layered with ajvar, roast capsicum and provolone – is shaping up to be an early favourite. Pair it with one of their canned iced lattes (the Biscoff and Pistachio versions are already talking points among early tasters).
While Chocolate Boys remains all about sugar highs and glossy sweets, Bad Neighbour offers something for every day, with toasted focaccias, espresso and the perfect grab-and-go energy boost between shopping sprees.
