Oktoberfest is just around the corner here in Adelaide, and this year, there’s plenty of beer, brats, oom-pah bands, and even chocolate to go around. It’s time to dust off your lederhosen and raise a stein in true German fashion. Adelaide’s Oktoberfest has something for everyone, so here’s your guide to getting into the spirit.

AUGC Oktoberfest
The Adelaide University German Club is back with another epic Oktoberfest event. This year they’ll be taking over the Barr Smith Lawns with authentic German beers from just $5, delicious German food like Bratwurst, Kartoffelsalat and Breze, a live performance from the Elder Conservatorium Brass Ensemble, and banger German hits. Tickets are $5 and go towards helping the club run and bringing you events just like this throughout the year.

Oktoberfest in the Gardens
Australia’s biggest Oktoberfest celebration is back, this year with even more festivities, fun, and frothies. Break out your best Lederhosen or Dirnd and kick back for a day of entertainment like no other. Not only is this a beer and bratwurst-filled event, but they’ve also got multiple stages of live entertainment and DJs, roving performers, competitions, sideshow alley, silent disco and more.

Choc’toberFest
A Hills favourite, Melba’s Chocolates is hosting their very own twist on Oktoberfest, as they transform their Angaston Dessert Bar & Lolly Shop into Choc’toberFest! They’ll have food trucks, garden games, market stalls, local entertainment, face painting, and much more. So if you’re a total sweet tooth, this is just the Oktoberfest event you’re going to want to get in on.

Oktoberfest at The Suburban Brew
The Suburban Brew is turning up the fun this spring with their Oktoberfest event. They’ll be pouring a brand new limited release to fill your steins with, and have a live oompah band to bring all the good vibes. Plus, Simply Flammekueche will be serving up delicious meals all day.

Oktoberfest at the Grand Bar
Glenelg’s Grand Bar is bringing all the Oktoberfest vibes to the bay, with a jam-packed weekend of fun. On Saturday, they’ll have a live German band, DJs from 8pm, and proper Bavarian energy from start to finish. Sunday will be slightly more vibes but keep the good times rolling with DJs, cold beers, and all the Oktoberfest vibes. There will even be a Stein Holding Competition and prizes up for grabs.
For $79, you can score their Grand Oktoberfest Package, which includes two steins of your choice and a meal voucher for their German-themed menu.
