Korean Street Food fans, get excited! A CBD favourite has expanded, opening the doors to a new location at Armada Arndale Shopping Centre.
Chunky Obba Gogi first opened on Penny Place in 2022, introducing a creative twist on traditional Korean BBQ to Adelaide. Now, its latest addition, Chunky Obba Bunsik, brings the same vibrant style and authentic flavours to Adelaide’s inner northern suburbs.
Chunky Obba was founded by Regina, an international student from China who moved to Australia in 2014. During the pandemic, she pursued her dream of opening a restaurant, and now the brand is taking on a new venture and heading north.
Chunky Obba Bunsik is taking a slightly different take on Korean food from what we have seen at Chunky Obba Gogi. The new store doesn’t have as much of a focus on Korean Barbeque, it is instead switching gears and serving up delicious Korean Street Food.
The menu features a bunch of Korean street food favourites, like bulgogi gimbap, Korean fried chicken, dumplings, seaweed rolls, and hotdogs. From spicy corndogs to spicy tteokbokki, with so many options, you’re guaranteed to leave feeling full and satisfied.
Chunky Obba Gogi became known for its bright colours and innovative take on traditional Korean barbecue, and this new location promises to impress. Out the front of the store, there’s a huge, colourful mural and inside the fit-out is fresh and inviting. With an absolutely electric atmosphere, and a fun and fresh menu to match, this is the perfect excuse to try some authentic Korean food.
